The Daily Verse
John
1:1-2, 14 (TPT) The Passion Translation
The Living Expression
1 In the beginning[a] the Living Expression[b] was already there.
And the Living Expression was with
God, yet fully God.[c]
2 They were together—face-to-face,[d] in the very beginning.[e]
Footnotes
1:1 Most scholars consider the first
eighteen verses of John to be the words of an ancient hymn or poem that was
cherished by first-century believers in Christ.
1:1 The Greek is logos,
which has a rich and varied background in both Greek philosophy and Judaism.
The Greeks equated logos with the highest principle of cosmic
order. God’s logos in the Old Testament conveys his powerful
self-expression in creation, revelation, and redemption. In the New Testament
we have this new unique view of God given to us by John, which signifies the
presence of God himself in the flesh. Some have translated this rich term as
“Word.” Though the Greek term logos may be rendered “word,” it
would be wrong to think it indicates primarily a lexical unit in a
sentence. Logos is more accurately understood as a form of
self-revealing or “message.” Jesus Christ is the eternal Message, the creative
Word, and the Living Expression of God made visible. He is the divine
self-expression of all that God is, contains, and reveals in incarnated flesh.
Just as we express ourselves in words, God has perfectly expressed himself in
Christ. Jesus is God’s Story.
1:1 The Living Expression (Christ)
fully possesses every attribute of deity held by God the Father (Col. 1:15–20). The Living Expression existed
eternally as a separate individual but essentially the same, as one with the
Father.
1:2 The Greek word used here and the
Hebraic concept conveyed is that of being before God’s face. There is no Hebrew
word for “presence” (i.e., the “presence” of God), only the word “face.”
1:2 Both Gen. 1:1 and John 1:1–2 speak of the beginning.
In Genesis Moses spoke of the beginning of time, but John speaks of eternity
past, a beginning before time existed. The Living Expression
is Christ who existed eternally as part of the Trinity. He has no beginning,
being one with the Father.

Thinking Out Loud – Journal Thoughts/Prayers / Mind Maze Overflow
I think I could pick the first to songs I was listening
to and shared and be done without any additional thoughts tapped out.
If you said it Jesus; we believe it when we have
faith and believe.
As I am pushing hard for Christmas this year to be
more about you, in just the mare fact of peace, and love and all good things on
earth.
It is hard though.
Just now almost 10 pm at night and because I am
sipping on some hot chocolate, I have moments to do a mind dump of this day and
just the blessings of all I have had this day.
Even if sitting in front of a screen for 10 hours
and not looking away but to do the 50 squats a day challenge. Oh yes, BTW… Ouch! Day two but I am doing it and Pray I can
make it through the entire month and get a little something of myself back.
You know all things Jesus. I need not share what it feels like these
past couple years have done to the world and everyone in it. But I can say you allow me to get back up
and do something even when it seems insignificant. For we are who you say we are Father
God. Son’s and Daughter’s of the most
high king Jehovah Jireh.
Face to face together for all who call upon your name. Not everyone is meant to have it easy or
filled with insignificant temporal stuff even if we chase it.
Even if we like it when we turn heads for that
outfit we have on. Or that comfy home with all the toys and gadgets piled
up. All waiting for something to
break, something to have the attention of those who want what others have and
the come to steal because they have not
be given the silence to hear how to get by working for themselves.
Perhaps it’s that drug addiction they need to take
things to sell to feed their demons or just selfish.
We are all where we choose to be until it is too late,
and change cannot be made, and we cannot choice something different. Looking the other way while they are doing
something they should not.
Well, you are just as guilty as doing it with them
if you are hanging while they go through the motions. Who knows maybe even laughing about it giving
a nudge or encouraging what should not be?
We start young being bold and disrespectful to others
and even our own being at times when we do not realize by not listening and
trying to do what is right instead just going off and doing it. Well eventually people cut you off so they
don’t have to deal.
Working a 10-hour day then going and help teaching
23 elementary kids where some just don’t want to be where they are, so they
disrespect and wind up the crew.
Well, I can tell you I am one tired puppy with
some really sore legs right now from this challenge.
Blessed I was given another day.
Blessed I don’t have all the answers or what
next. Even if you push my buttons along
this journey, I can give you a what for.
So
glad you have my heart Father. Especially all the times in life I have wanted
badly to quit people. As they quit the journey
just when they meant so much.
I will
never understand why things happen as they do.
Or understand why me?
But
what matters most is that you allow me so much leeway to just be me. More impossible how you have carried me to
the top of those mountains when I became paralyzed and needed what I never
understood.
Maybe
this is my love letters these pieces of me that you so freely allow. Maybe just a glimpse of the love you have
sprinkled throughout who I am. There will never be enough time or deserving or
understanding to figure it out.
You
know me inside out. Who I love, how I love? You own it all; now show me what next.
As the
moon circles the globe, Jesus turn this world and all that is struggling, in hate,
pain and darkness. Turn it around
Father!
With one
whisper you change everything. Hope in
you come what may. Bring it and heal the
disease, the pain, the suffering for your eternal purpose.
The
cancer
The
pandemic
The
emotional imbalance
Right now,
Father God these are your people across this nation. Stop the hate, the hurt the broken children,
broken adults. All the crushed darkened
spirits. Light us up Father God.
May
your people rise up and shine brighter, bolder, and louder than ever before to
let love lead us in and with you. Now
and forever, they call you Emmanuel; God with us!
As we
dance to the rhythms, beats, riffs, or just dance in the streets. May the harmony play out as the wind blows invisibly
yet touches every life that inhales.
Just
exhale and grow forward in you; with you!
So, as
I myself Father keep working through whatever it was. I know rest in you will always make things
better than alright. May I never forget.
Be
with all that are tangled up in so many knots to this heart and soul Jesus. May we all know our own little puzzle piece
and where it belongs. While spreading
our wings and flying high for and with you.
If we
can not see you, may we never forget it will be okay as you are there if we
call you and do our best to openly hold you.
Thank
you for November we know December will only get better!
