Daily Journal/Thoughts/ Prayers (Thinking out loud)

Why do we do the things we do?

I woke with the thoughts on my mind that I do not have think of a reason why I serve.  I am not out looking for gratitude or expectations I am getting anywhere for what I do; not even that I should be paid as my child asked not that long ago.

Hey mom, how many days a week do you work for free at the church.  I laughed and said I am not working even though some of the skills we learn serving can be great on a resume.   Back in the day I was pretty much serving at the church seven days a week.

My payment was and still is that it spiritually grew/grows me.

It helped me find myself in a no judgement zone.  For me to love on others and be loved on and learn the gospel and grow forward.

Yes, over time you can burn out.   When you work in the secular world and serve a greater power there is always something that is playing out.

Many will never give one ounce of there time for even what they have purchased.  Much less get up and do and be whatever your called to do at that time for a God you cannot see but know exists.  Or strangers that in the moment they are thankful but as soon as they walk away, all you can do is pray that the seed of faith, promise and love grows like wildflowers deep within them.    Graves Into Gardens @Elevation Worship

When my kid asked me again, I smiled and said look around.   You and all of us here and now are the payment, the reward the blessing.   The house we have as shelter, the health and wellbeing.    The ability to have someone close.

Each day I am allowed back up, that is the payment I am given.

None of us deserve a thing and it does not matter if you gave all you own away and worked in the far country in the slums helping those in need.  Or you and your gift and talent took you to be president or a top celebrity.   NONE of us deserve a thing.   Yet we all think we do more times than not.

I get up and do what I do because if feeds the spirit deep within. Spirit Lead Me @Michael Ketterer & Influence Music    Yes, with respect and every now and again just being hugged on and thanked or even just acknowledged helps on those really hard days.     But even when it does not come; the love of the souls I have truly been able to connect.    The ability to learn and grow and even when I managed a prayer list for many years.    To know we are all going through, coming out of or in the thick of something.

Those we know, those close to us and those we do not.

So as these thoughts pour out before even touching my devotionals and just getting started with my day; now that my eyes can focus and see.    My thoughts are: Why do you do what you do?    I am not talking about because I have to pay the bills, so we have shelter and all that stuff.

Why good, or bad do you keep doing what you do?   Even those things that you try so hard not to do.

Trust me not just the fact one bad habit I had was I smoked for many years.  And that was not even half of the things I am sure I did and should not have; but like everything else when I dove in headfirst and really wanted to know more about Jesus and invited him into my life.  Then later found I cannot be, I cannot exist, and I really am nothing without Him.    All those things just one day were like there never was a struggle.  Break Every Chain @Jesus Culture

You hear it all the time but is true.  Be it addictions, struggles all of it.  And it does not have to be drugs, alcohol, spending, eating, sex, anxiety, or the billion other things that can consume us.

They can all become addictive like drugs.  Once you tap into them and start wanting more it is hard not to keep going.  Even when you know how bad it can be for your well-being, or even the possible destruction of those you love and care for immediately around you.

Even the biggest, most well-known, most holy go through trials and sometimes fall into everything or anything besides God himself.     Later left trying to recover from the shock waves of the quake that wrecked or took lives of those that were far to young to go.

It does not matter if they were taken out of the world or just from our immediate lives.  The shock waves of what we do when we do it lasts forever.

I cannot say it enough, just like that social media post that came back around again yesterday.

If you believe everything you read, why not start reading the bible?  I Believe In You @JJ Heller

If you have tried all these other things and they do not last; why have you not yet called upon Jesus?

No, it is not that simple; no, it will not happen overnight.  But I can assure you each day you purpose to get up and give it all to him.  Each day you try just a little bit more; each day you find your way to a spirit lifting devotional; each day you listen to songs of hope and just allow your soul to be loved.   Each day you give thanks for even the things that go wrong.

It does not mean we will not be impacted by things that hurt, things that leave us or those we love in suffering.  It does not mean we won’t mess up and even at times find our way in places we left long ago.

But that day that you finally wake up and feel and see something is different and you do not know when it happened but there is an abundance of peace that just continually flows.

You will never question again the need to just keep diving in and wanting to know more, contribute more of who you are to the light.   See The Light @TobyMac ft. Jordan Feliz

Yes, these are my thoughts and perspectives.   And this light carries me. Hold On To Me @Lauren Daigle   It does not mean I do not go through those moments of self.

I know I will never be good enough in the world or be that one for that one or any of the other crazy that spins around us.  Push @Matchbox Twenty

I know who I am, I know when I do, and I never should have.  I know when I need to call upon my brothers and sisters to help me stay on track and not just do without thinking.

I also know when God says do it; you just do it!   I am perfectly placed right where he wants me to be.   And on the day, he says it is done time to come home none of the things I got wrong or would of, should of could of will never matter in the first place.    All of the inanimate objects that I chased, had, gave away, had taken or just got destroyed.  None of them will matter.

Yes, many of us want something for our family, to leave something behind for our children.   But have you ever noticed in this world how broken families are?

Why are we not leaving them the gift of life now?   Why is it that we wait to look up or down from wherever we end up seeing those same people that never really cared while we were alive, now are fighting over what was left.

And I know there are so many around the globe that need so much help.

I know the U.S. is really one of the richest countries when it comes to even just having shelter, running water, and all the things we take for granted.

So why do we have so many homeless children?     Why is it I can drive down my roads and see so many homeless people living in the woods, or sleeping outside a building in the inner city?

Yes, we all get to choose!    Yes, many people live off the grid because they do not want to deal with the messed-up government and all the messes that roll downhill.  Or they just do not want to fit in the box.  But what about the children that never had a chance and have to just be because of the choices adults make?

What about those people who really have been working to just have a life with shelter and love and had everything fall apart?      I know what that is like.    To be a single parent and working hard and one day the company says we are closing, or we no longer need your position.   What it felt like to not know what or how I would do to feed my children.

To know what it was like for me being the responsible one and holding all the burdens of what seem to be the world while everyone else was going on with their life as nothing mattered.

Knowing what it is like to be nothing and fighting for a place in this world which I could have never made without meeting Jesus 26 years ago.   Place In This World @Michael W. Smith And the thing is even today I forget who I am until I cling to Jesus.

I may or may not get it right, but one thing is for sure I will keep fighting forward until my very last breath and absolutely always know how, or why I get to do so.

Because there was Jesus!  There Was Jesus @Zach Williams, Dolly Parton

Never give up hope in all that is good.  We get to choose each new day he allows us up and gives us one step to the future of what our dreams may be.  No matter what you are never alone.  Hello Future @TobyMac ft. David Crowder

No matter what He is always with you!  Choose to laugh through all the tears and choose to love even when the worst of things fight you hard to give up. Let him in~  He Is With You @Mandisa

Jesus has promised many blessings to those who call upon and wait upon him!

Lamentations 3:24-26  I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.”  The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation for the Lord.

Isaiah 40:31  But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength.  They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.

Psalm 16:11  You will show me the path of life; in  Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand ar pleasures forevermore.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

Thankfulness is a safeguard against this deadly sin of grumbling, despising, causing hate and hurt.

1 Corinthians 10:10  And do not grumble, as some of them did—and were killed by the destroying angel.

Hebrews 12:28-29  Therefore, since we are receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, let us be thankful, and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe, for our “God is consuming fire.”

Colossians 3:16  Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom, and as you sing psalms, hymns and spiritual songs with gratitude in your hearts to God.

Daily Journal/Thoughts/ Prayers (Thinking out loud)

What are we doing to protect our mind?  That which feeds our spirits and transitions even the most beautiful being into chaos, hurt, anger and at times a broken-down puddle of goo.

Are we turning to that which is supposed to help us be better, do better, feel better only later to find out its all temporal and at some point, when the flood comes rushing back through it hurts more and sometimes even triggers destruction or unrepairable fragments that forever rob us from the beautiful memories or at least that which started out with such peace, laughter and full of love moments? Forever @Claude Kelly

Those moments that can have so many different spins on what forever would of, should of, or could have been. Forever @Keith Urban

All those things that we allow in through our minds eye into our spirit that sometimes over runs and has us spinning later to find its all temporal and gone in a second. All the while we hear rumors and truth that there is a God who gave his one and only son so we would have eternity and he will forever never leave us.  Forever @Michael W. Smith

As we get caught up in the day to day or find ourselves lost in the dark at times.   We all have to know there is more to life than just what is in front of us.  We are never alone.

On Your Own @TobyMac @Lost Demos

Finished at that cross that day He took all we never could.

But why for knowing the world was falling before it began, and humanity would so often struggle to find the peace and promise of hope in all that is good.  Yet God the good father promised life no matter what we choose.

He has risen long before Resurrection Sunday or our choice to cling to all things new or all things beautiful.   Finding the diamonds in the rough.  Bleeding out for slavery of all that temporal sometimes our own choice many times at the hands of others.

Knowing we would always fall short He made that choice to take all we would shamefully give so much pain we would never be able to repay.   Yet he did just so we could choose to live with and for Him.   Christ our King then, now, and always.     Resurrecting @Elevation Worship

Jesus so many days I could run and never look back; but your strength alone tells me when to stay and when to go.   None of us know what or if there will be a tomorrow and what it will contain.  We can choose, plan, hustle and it may turn out to be beyond our wildest blessings we would not deserve, or it can be just one more layer in an already most days heavy world.   Whatever it may be; Jesus may I always do it again with your guidance, your love, your courage, your strength.   Because without you I am nothing.  Do It Again @Elevation Worship

All I am, all I will ever be, all that was all that lingers.  None of it will ever make me worthy of the blessings of life you have allowed me.  Good, bad, or indifferent.  It is you and nothing could ever change that to make me think differently.   It is you that sustains the wind that blows the leaves, the air that fills these lungs, the ability to allow such creations in humanity and all things.

Though I will never stop those deep desires, and things I do, I say or even want for in this flesh.  I am fully aware of who you are and who is in control.  Feel It @TobyMac

Forgive me for my transgressions and thank you for each day I have been challenged with as I am able to get back up one more time. May I learn to love and be loved like you do Jesus?

Love me, and all I am to be all I am connected.    Like You Love Me @Tauren Wells

Romans 6:23 (NIV)

23 For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in[a] Christ Jesus our Lord.

 (@Jesus Calling 365 Devotions with Real-Life Stories @Sarah Young)

WOW! Just a glimpse of what is speaking to me this morning.   “This is the time in your life when you must learn to let go:  of loved ones, of possessions, of control.  In order to let go of something that is precious to you, you need to rest in MY Presence, where you are complete.  Take time to bask in the Light of My Love.  As you relax more and more, your grasping hand gradually opens up, releasing your prized possession into my care.”

Psalm 89:15  Blessed are those who have learned to acclaim you, who walk in the light of your presence, O Lord.

Hebrews 13:8  Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.

Isaiah 41:13  “For I am the LORD, your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.”

Daily Journal/Thoughts/ Prayers (Thinking out loud)

Crazy day yesterday and yes, I should have had this devotion the night before.  As I stayed up far too late working on something and then just in the back of my head knowing I was going for the Covid vaccine#1.

There is always some thought of what if everything changes and I am no longer able to be me, and how I have come to terms everything in this world is temporary even me.    My family, my friends and anyone I come in connection with.   All of it, all of us belong to the Lord who created us.

All that we have all that we do all that we think we can be is in the hands of the Jesus Christ and God the Father looking down upon us.

Knowing this does not stop anyone of us from going through the storms or bewilderment of any moments that occur in life.    Be it how you feel for those around you, those you may lose or even those that some how you came in connection and ended up missing pieces, broken or even scarred for life.

But as the devotion went on to say reminding me; by the way here I am with just a sore arm for anyone wondering.   No side effects thankfully so and still here blessed another day.

The devotion hit home and if only we could lock in before we let anything weigh on us.  “You can feel secure, even in the midst of cataclysmic changes, through awareness of My continual Presence.  The one who never leaves is the same One who never changes: I Am the same yesterday, today, and forever. As you release more and more things into My care, remember that I never let go of your hand.  Herein lies your security, which no one and no circumstance can take from you.”

So, what a way to get the week started planning and doing all those hard things filled with so much uncertainty and getting them out of the way.  Even if they do leave you to feel a little bit of pain.  During the process of whatever that it maybe we can hold tight to the hand of God.  And when we are on the other side, we will see He was with us through it all.

Yes, we may end up with missing pieces or even some extra one’s that we just do not know what to do with.  However, give it all back to the one who allows us to be in the first place.   Meet God right where you are by getting to know and communicating with Christ Jesus.

What can it hurt if you are wrong you still have to go through whatever lies ahead?    But if I am right and for me I am.   We are filled with a greater peace and strength that helps us to at times even just breathe. Breathe  @Michael W. Smith

Either way the peace and blessings I have found since meeting Jesus and making him a part of my days is a blessing beyond anything I can describe.  And I will take that wherever I am allowed to journey.

I hope all that I am connected will one day get it too.

Finding freedom in the truth and peace, even if in the smallest things matter! Found My Freedom @I Am They ft. Matthew West

I have found my freedom in this world, in this mind, in everything I know when I found Jesus. Who has been with me long before I looked around; and wish I could say I said hello and introduced myself! However, it was more like coming to terms with this life when I would wonder and hold conversations with friends and strangers what my purpose in life was for.  Then one day in a huge battle of reality fighting and screaming at God asking him just what he wanted from me.  I could not take anymore.  Nothing was working and anything I did then to numb or get through just did not work.  One thing is for sure with or without walking with God through his son Jesus Christ.   Always be careful of what you wish for or wish on others.

More importantly always know; NO one will ever love you like God does.      Who Can @Cochren & Co.

We all get to choose and our choices matter; no matter how we get to where we are.

Hopefully, we all know we can make it.

Hopefully, we all dig deep and do not quit and just keep getting back up even if we have not made that relationship yet.   But what changes everything is when the storms are calmed deep within and the battle you know is under control and in the hands of the Lord.   That you know Jesus will never let you go under without taking you some where else better and more beautiful.    Walk on Water @Elevation Rhythm Song Session

I can chase tails, running myself in the ground being fed up, burnt out, overwhelmed from all I cannot do, or I have done wrong according to the world standards.  Or even all the disrespect that flies through and around me at any given day.  No, it does not have to be a known bad person.  It can come right from those you care about most.  Or even when you are breaking because you see they are hurting and stuck and cannot connect at the level you have made I to.

We all have stuff.   Does not matter how big a star or celebrity or how much power you have in a roll you have taken on.   Does not matter how much money you have, or do not have.

Every living soul on this earth has stuff they have made it through, are going through, or are getting ready to go through.

Lord as my prayer this day is, they lay it all down at the foot of the cross and meet Jesus there every day for the rest of the days they are given on this earth and they truly, madly and deeply fall in love with you as you have with everyone of your creation.   Truly, Madly, Deeply @Savage Garden

Heal us Lord, guide us and let us lay down in the water or stand on that mountain with all that you bless us with and for.

Thank you for this day and any that have come to pass and any I may have yet to come.  All that I am is yours~   As you make all things work together.  Thank you!   Canvas and Clay @Pat Barrett ft. Ben Smith

Daily Journal/Thoughts/ Prayers (Thinking out loud)

If we only revealed and lived openly in the truth of what life really is for each and every one of our souls going through something.

Be it the parent struggling to hold on the loss or losing the child they were given as a gift of life cut too short as they have either lost themselves to the world or just cannot trust to get help while they solve it on their own.

Trust what is that anyway.   Fighting to believe in ourselves, fighting to believe in those we grow close to.    Only to put so much trust and belief in them when they let us down and they will; we are broken close to non-repair.

Who do we listen to; who and what do we really believe in?  You know that which get’s us back up each day after being steam rolled over in life.

You say Jesus throughout all that is written you will never leave us; to trust and believe in you.   Truth is when we finally do; somehow, somewhere along the line we are filled with the abundance of courage and strength to keep fighting forward.

We all may experience things like another; but nobody but God knows what we are going through or what have been through.

Kindness matters in every action, word.  Only our own beings knows what keeps us up at night or feel for.     Good, bad, or indifferent.   Each day we are given is a blessing no matter what that feels like.    Thanking the one who allows air in your lungs, clinging to even the slightest thread of his precious robe matters.

Standing for something in life that is good, that is pure, that even if you stand alone matters.  Even when we cannot understand all that just does not make sense.

Free falling, we all need someone, something!   I need Jesus Christ.  I have honestly been around and through much more in my life as a kid and fought every day of my life to just keep going trying to be a good person.  Fighting through all the judgement of all those who have had all the answers but none willing to stand next and help grow forward.   Or the healing that was needed from the scars that try to mold us into a statistic.

At what point do we, do you dare to fight forward and dare to be different?

Break through the mold that is ready to consume us in the world and just be another number falling into the left or right.   The least of these or slaves of the what the world says we have to be when we chase the dreams and become property of the world.

When do we find ourselves?   When do we want more that is ever lasting?   Why is it we choose to only believe what we can see and hold even when it is temporal?

Far from any subject matter expert.  Just filled with abundant grace after traveling many roads in this life.     Loving the best and worst of those I have been connected.   I embrace who is far greater than I can ever be.     I believe in God, in super spiritual power and the power of Jesus Christ who gave himself for me before I ever came to be.

It is hard each day is harder than anyone should ever have to deal with.   But what is life if we do not ourselves have to work forward and try.    What is it worth if we are not thankful for what we are given?

We all want love even those who deny it and even those who abuse it and take it from everyone they feel like; yet never reciprocate truly and deeply back.

I am thankful for the love, the life and that the Lamb of God, gave up so I could be my best self.

No one can love me like He does!
