Our choices
matter.
We get
to choose how we are going to move forward in each new day we are given.
I
choose to give thanks that today I am given one more day of opportunity to
make a difference. To be productive. To dare to be me and not what others say I
am, or want me to be for their temporary desires, pleasures, or games even.
I
choose to believe when I move, and it hurts; I am blessed I am still
alive. I choose to believe that when
tears fall God is allowing me to feel maybe too often in my own mind. But my heart never hardened in all the
trials, mistakes or burdens that have been layered up on me, for me or anyone I
have been connected to in life.
I
choose to admit I am far from perfect, but I will not stop trying even if it
gets me no where or everywhere in this world we live where everyone is so
perfect.
All the
manipulations or treasures the world flaunts in front of us creating so much
unrest within even those who cannot stand to be separated. Clinging to all that is temporal all the
while forgetting to dig deep for what is lasting.
Forever
a dream we wish, want, and even try. Yet
in a split second with actions, words, or lack of we let it all go for what is temporary
and meaningless.
Our
choices matter.
What we
choose is what gives the definition of meaning in our lives.
For the
addict it means something to get the fix
For the
child or teenager, it means something when they give themselves to those, they
think will love them forever and they will matter. All the while that adult that takes
advantage it only meant something for what they could do or get at that moment.
Knowing
every step of the way we get to choose, and we are the only ones that can call upon
higher and more meaningful purposes while we sort out what is temporal or
destructive.
Right,
Wrong we get to choose. Right or Left
there is no sitting on the fence no matter what. Yes, there are accidents or mistakes, and
tomorrow is never promised and yesterday is gone.
So,
make your today’s count for more than that rush of seconds of pleasure, or that
high you are chasing or that dream you think others will fulfill for you.
Only
you and God can reach what truly is everlasting. He stops the pain, He fills the voids, He
washes us clean, He loves us no one ever can.
Anything
else we choose along the way is either bonus or intensifies the blessings we
are aware of. Or robs us from the peace
and meaning we were created for.
No
matter we get to choose while we are allowed back up. But if we wait too long; tomorrow may never
come and the choice is no longer free and will be made for us.
May we want to
learn how to find you Jesus and become a living sacrifice back to you as you
gave all you are so we could have life.
We all have a past, a story, a name.
But you alone will and can wash away any of the shame, guilt, or hunger
to keep doing the things we do not want to do; but cannot release on our own.
Jesus Consume Me;
consume all I am connected. For all I
am is yours.
Release and wash
over us and this land. Healing, leading
us back to the cross for and with you.
Thank you for
this one more day; may all I say, all I find myself doing be good in your eyes
and have meaning for those we lead without even acknowledging they are
there. May our choices matter for more
than 15 minutes of fame or riding the coattails of what the world reflects as
worthy.
Love the
unlovable, heal the broken, guide the lost, fill every desire ever dream through
your kingdom coming!
